September is one of those months when we get to “re-up” for the coming year.
Like a new year’s resolution one may commit to a new start of faith active in love. With that in mind our congregation council and its
Stewardship Committee have planned a season of renewal, beginning with a “mission fair and rib fest” on September 19. Our guest preacher for the day is Blair Morgan who is the Southwestern Pennsylvania Synod’s Director of Evangelical Mission. Following worship, we will turn Highland Hall into a bazaar of information and food.
Our various ministries will have booths dedicated toward helping every member and friend to
regard the good things God is doing in our midst, and how you may discern your part in using time and talents to the glory of God! In the arena, there will be activities and games for kids,
which truly makes this Sunday a gathering for the whole church! (We will even have the Steelers/Titan game airing in Highland Hall
AND Congregation Council President Mike Taylor has thrown down the gauntlet as “rib-king” to beat! Have you a rib recipe you would like to add to the mix? All pretenders to the throne are
welcome to try! Call the office to get more
information as the contest unfolds.
We have a mission to Make Christ Known, and you are invited to the next chapter of our life together in faith…My prayer is that we will
all heed the call!
